Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Ása ("we", "us") is an independent app studio based in Iceland. We publish iOS apps on the App Store, currently Kalí and Endó, and we run this website, asaappsandmore.com. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Icelandic Data Protection Act (Act No. 90/2018), Ása is the controller of any personal data described in this policy.

2. This website

asaappsandmore.com is a static website. It has no user accounts, no forms, no comment sections and no third-party scripts.

• Cookies: none. The site does not set any cookies or use local storage.
• Analytics and advertising: none. We do not use Google Analytics, pixels, tag managers or any tracking of visits.
• Fonts and scripts: everything is served from this site itself. No request is made to a third-party CDN when you load a page.
• Hosting: the site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Like any web host, Netlify may keep short-lived server logs (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to operate and secure the service. We do not access those logs for profiling and we have no analytics dashboards built on them. Netlify's own policy is at netlify.com/privacy.

3. When you email us

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, your name if you include one, and whatever you write. We use that information only to reply to you and to handle the matter you raised — for example a support question, a bug report, a data request or a business enquiry.

Emails are stored in our mailbox for as long as they are needed to handle the conversation and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can follow up if the same issue comes back. You can ask us to delete the correspondence at any time. Our legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), or, where you are an app user, the performance of our agreement with you (Article 6(1)(b)).

4. Our apps

Each app we publish is covered by its own privacy policy, written for that app, which explains what it collects, where the data is stored, what it is used for and how to delete it. Those policies — not this one — govern your use of the apps:

A few things are true of every Ása app: we do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising networks inside the apps, and every app offers a way to delete your account and the data associated with it from inside the app.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we process it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will respond within one month.

If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully, you can complain to the Icelandic Data Protection Authority, Persónuvernd (personuvernd.is), or to the supervisory authority in the EU/EEA country where you live.

6. Children

This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 through it. Age requirements for each app are stated in that app's own terms and privacy policy.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change how this website handles personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Changes that matter to app users are announced in the app and on that app's own website.
